The National Institutes of Health has approved a new vaccine against the deadly coronavirus, which is now in its second year.

The gene-editing drug that the National Institutes has approved, called VIRGO, was developed by the Biotechnology Industry Organization, the industry’s trade group, and is a first-in-class vaccine.

The company is also working on a second, smaller vaccine.
